Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use the DiveDiveDive app ("the app") and the optional Pro subscription. By using the app you agree to them. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies to the app; if the two conflict, Apple's applies to the app license.
Safety. DiveDiveDive is a logbook, not a dive computer, planner or safety device. It does not tell you what is safe. Never use it to plan a dive, decide how deep or long to dive, or manage decompression. Follow your training and use a certified dive computer or tables for planning. Imported or calculated figures may be wrong. Diving is dangerous, and you dive at your own risk.
Your account
You can use the app without an account. If you create one, give accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings, then your name at the top, then Delete Account).
Your data
Your dive log is yours. You give us permission to store, copy and display it only as needed to run the app for you, such as backing up and syncing it. You can export your log at any time, free, whether or not you have Pro.
One exception: when you sync dive sites, you also let us use their names, locations and coordinates, without your name, in the shared dive site catalog that every diver can search. They count only while they are in your log.
The dive site catalog
Site names and positions in the catalog come from other divers and from published lists. They may be wrong or out of date. Check a site with a local dive operator, and never rely on the catalog for navigation or safety.
Name sites for what they are. There is no tolerance for offensive, abusive, hateful or sexual names, or for advertising. We filter such names and review every report within a day, and we hide or remove sites that break these terms. To report a site, choose it on the map (All Sites) and use Report Site, or long-press it in the list when adding a site, or email app@divedivedive.io. An account used to post such content may be closed.
Pro subscription
- Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price shown in the App Store when you subscribe.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- If you start a free trial, you are not charged during it. It becomes a paid subscription at the price shown when you started it, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The app shows when your trial ends and reminds you 2 days before.
- Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings (Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. Promotional offers and offer codes are subject to the terms shown when you redeem them.
- If Pro ends: your log stays on your device and keeps working. Changes stop being uploaded, and Pro-only features stop accepting new items, until you subscribe again. You can still download your log from our servers and export it.
Using the app
Do not misuse the app or our services: no attempting to break into other accounts or our systems, no overloading the service, and no using it to break the law.
Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or end access to the online service for misuse. We may also change or retire features; if we end the online service, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data.
No warranty and limits on liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any injury or loss arising from diving, and our total liability for anything arising from the app is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
